Rivera: D-Day Could Come Soon for SE IA PG
Filiberto Rivera, who carried Southeastern C.C. of West Burlington, Ia., to its second NJCAA title in the past four years last month, could be closing in on a college decision this spring.
JUCO Junction caught up with Southeastern Head Coach Joe O'Brien on Tuesday night, and he said he expects Rivera's situation to be solidified by Friday. The spring signing period kicks off today, Apr. 16.

Rivera, who had committed to Florida International last fall, opted to reopen his recruitment this spring after Panthers Asst. Coach Sergio Ruoco relocated to Texas El Paso.
Rivera took an official visit to UTEP this past weekend (Apr. 11-13), and things went swimmingly, O'Brien said.
