Rutgers lands Miami Dade player

James Beatty just finished his second year at Miami Dade Community College. Beatty will now take his game to the Big East Conference next season according to Sharks Head Coach Matt Eisele. JucoJunction has the latest on where Beatty will be going in this story.
Beatty, from Wilmington, NC, will be playing at Rutgers University next season according to coach Eisele. Betty recently was finishing up summer school work to graduate from Miami Dade. Beatty, a two-year starter for the Sharks, averaged 11.5 ppg, 6.5 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.8 steals this past year for the Sharks. The Sharks had a great ride this past season under Eisele. The Sharks lost in overtime to Gulf Community College in the State Tourney Quarterfinals on the campus of Chipola College back in March.

Beatty shot 40.5% (71-175) from three-point range this past season for the Sharks. Beatty was ranked the #38 player in the country by JucoJunction this past season.
The Sharks will look to reload next season under head coach Eisele. Freddy Asprilla 6-foot-10 (280) and Dominic Rutledge 6-foot-8 both have transferred into school for next fall. Asprilla played this past season at Florida International where he averaged 13.7 ppg and 9.2 rebounds for the Golden Panthers. Asprilla hails from Bogota, Columbia and prepped at the Patterson School in Lenoir, NC. Rutledge, a New Jersey native, played at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas last season where he averaged 8.9 ppg and 7.3 rebounds last year for the Blue Dragons.
