San Jacinto TX Update

After Jihad Muhammad made a lot of noise by signing with Cincinnati last month, things have been a bit quiet on the San Jacinto College basketball front.
In fact, you might say that things have slowed to a trickle, although one Raven sophomore recently cast his lot with an NAIA program.

Mike Fraser, a 6-6 power forward from Frederick, Md., has signed with Oklahoma Baptist.
Fraser averaged 6.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, shooting 61 percent from the floor and just 46 percent from the foul line.
An athletic insider, Fraser was a valuable role player for the Ravens the past two seasons. He is a solid pick-up for Oklahoma Baptist.
Two other sophomores commanding Division I recruiting interest remain unsigned.
Darnell Hopkins, a 6-2 swingman/shooting guard from Baltimore, Md., is now being looked at by Murray State and Manhattan, according to San Jac Asst. Coach Scott Horstman.
Hopkins visited both Stephen F. Austin and Texas State earlier this spring. It's unclear if Hopkins will take any visits in the near future.
A player who knows how to get to the basket, Hopkins averaged 12.8 points, four rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for the Ravens in 2003-2004. He shot 49 percent from the field, 26 percent beyond the arc and 78 percent from the foul line.
Hopkins will complete his degree requirements at San Jac this summer.
Another available sophomore, 6-7, 250 pound power forward Rashad Robinson of Elizabeth, N.J., recently visited Liberty University (May 7-9).
Liberty is the only school that Robinson has visited this spring. He's currently trying to complete his degree requirements, which will likely take until the end of the summer.
Robinson averaged 5.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this past season. He shot 54 percent from the floor and 60 percent from the foul line this past season.
JUCO Junction will keep you abreast on both Hopkins and Robinson until they reach decisions. Stay tuned!
