San Jacs Robinson: Big Bodied PF

To reduce a season's worth of sweat and toil to a mere four game stretch would be unfair to San Jacinto's Rashad Robinson.
Robinson, a 6-7, 245 pound power forward from Elizabeth, N.J., will be a sophomore in the fall at the Pasadena, Tex., based school. He had a very productive freshman year for the Ravens, but struggled for whatever reason in the national tournament.

Ironically enough, while Robinson struggled at Hutch, his team did not. San Jac won its first three games at the NJCAA Tournament in late March, before falling in the title game to Southeastern C.C. of Iowa.
For the season, Robinson put up very respectable numbers, averaging 8.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game entering the NJCAA Tournament. He shot 62 percent from the field and 53 percent from the charity stripe.
According to San Jac Asst. Coach Scott Horstman, a number of high level schools have asked about Robinson this spring/summer. Among the early inquiries were calls from Providence, Virginia Tech and New Mexico State.
Robinson could be one of the better returning power forwards in the JC ranks in 2003-2004, so we'll keep an eye on him and his recruitment. Stay tuned.
