San Joaquin Delta solid again

San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA usually has a solid program year after year and this season is no exception. Head coach Brian Katz will be entering his 15th season at the helm for the Mustangs. Katz has a career record of 343-143. JucoJunction had a chance to watch the Mustangs this weekend at the Diablo Valley College Jamboree. Here is our look at a few of the players that stood out:
Lavar Neufville: (SO) 6-foot-3 (200) from Fairfield, CA. The combo guard has already received a scholarship offer from Pacific University according to Katz.

"Lamar is a very solid leader on the floor that has good quickness to get to the basket," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Lamar shot a blistering 68% (100-147) from the floor last season while averaging 11.1 ppg and 4.1 rebounds for the Mustangs.
Michael Edwards: (SO) 6-foot-10 (200) from Tracy, CA. Edwards greyshirted back in the 2005-2006 season and played last season and averaged just 2.5 ppg and 2.8
rebounds. Edwards played behind all-stater and all-coference performer Mike Nunnally who is now at Pacific University.
"Mike needs to get stronger and add some weight to his frame to be more effective. He
runs the floor nicely and can alter shots on the defensive end," said Swanson.
Roman Van Allen: (SO) 5-foot-10 (170) from Reno, NV. Van Allen averaged 8.6 ppg last season and shot 58% (81-139) while hitting 52% from three-point range.
"Van Allen is a great catch and shoot player especially from behind the arc," said Swanson.
Van Allen is a solid D2 player.
Benny Flores: (SO) 6-foot-4 (220) from Stockton, CA.
"The undersized blue collar post does all the little things to help a team win games. Benny really plays physical and draws a lot of contact on both ends of the floor along with charges," said Swanson.
Flores averaged 6 ppg last season.
