"Chris is a very smart player with great basketball knowledge," said Santa Fe Community College head coach Chris Mowry.
Baez is currently averaging 14.5 ppg and 3.7 rebounds this year while shooting 36% from three-point range. Baez will need summer school to graduate according to Mowry.
Marlon Rivera, (SO) 6-foot-2 (190), hails from Puerto Rico but played his high school basketball at Calusa Prep and Sagemont in Florida before enrolling at Santa Fe Community College.
"Marlon is a very strong and physical point guard who can defend a few different positions on the floor," said Mowry.
Rivera is getting 7.6 ppg and 5.5 assists per outing this season for Santa Fe Community College. He nearly had a triple-double against CFCC with ten points, ten boards and eight assists.
Rivera has received strong interest from Stetson-offered, Florida Gulf Coast-offered and Louisiana-Monroe-offered according to Mowry this spring. Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Fordham University and University of Iowa all have shown interest in Rivera this spring.
JucoJunction will follow these two players this spring and when they decide on a future school for next year on your source for junior college basketball recruiting.
