Schoolcrafts Holmes Taking C-USA Trip

James Holmes, who was Schoolcraft College's third leading scorer in 2002-2003, was recently determined to be an NCAA qualifier out of high school.
As a result, the 6-2, 185 pound shooting guard from Detroit, Mich., can leave Schoolcraft with three years to play on the Division I level.

And Holmes is planning on taking advantage of that rule. He's already visited Central Michigan and is taking a trip this weekend to South Florida, according to SC Head Coach Carlos Briggs.
Briggs said that if all goes well with Holmes' visit to Tampa this weekend, he could very likely be a Bull by early next week.
Holmes, who impressed JUCO Junction at the NJCAA Tournament in March with his slashing and scoring ability, averaged 14.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game as a freshman at Schoolcraft. He shot 53 percent from the floor, 41 percent beyond the arc and 77 percent from the foul line.
JUCO Junction will keep you posted on Holmes' status this spring, and once he signs, we'll update the site with an article.
