Scouting report: College of the Sequoias

Chepe Lara is a big-bodied post player from The College of Sequoias in Visalia, CA. Lara, (SO) 6-foot-8 (260), has signed with the Roadrunners of California State-Bakersfield for next season according to College of Sequoias Head coach Rusty Smith.
"Chepe really loved the campus and the coach's at UC-Bakersfield. I really believe it's a great fit for him," said Smith.

Lara also received some interest from Northern Arizona and California-Irvine. Lara is currently averaging 9.6 ppg this season.
The Giants are currently off to a 4-2 start this season and play in the always tough Central Valley Conference.
COS teammate Anthony Jones, (SO) 6-foot-6 (235), was recently named MVP of the Columbia College Tourney in Sonora, CA.
"Anthony has a great skill level and he really understands the game very well," said Smith.
Jones is getting 10.4 ppg and 5.6 rebounds on the young season.
Paul Wolf, (SO) 6-foot-9 (240), is a post player that can step out and face up from the perimeter. Wolf hails from Clovis, CA.
Yunss Akinocho, (FR) 6-foot-6 (235), really played well this summer when JucoJunction had a chance to see the Giants play in the Dibalo Valley College Jamboree and Gerry Freitas Hoop Review a few days later.
"Akinocho is a very talented player. He can really make plays," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson. "Yunss can step out and shoot the 3 pointer and can handle the rock."
Akinocho is currently getting 11 ppg and 5.6 rebounds a night for the Giants.
Rocky DiAntonio, (FR) 6-foot-2 from Las Vegas, is an academic qualifier who can leave with three years left to play after this season. DiAntonio is currently shooting over 50% from 3 point range and getting 7.4 ppg. DiAntonio didn't play with the Giants this summer.
