Sea Devils move

The Sea Devils of Cape Fear Community in Wilmington, N.C. are looking to get back to the NJCAA National Tourney under head coach Ryan Mantlo. The Seahawks were at Hutch back in 2008-2009 and last year lost out on a bid to the NJCAA as region foe Brunswick Community College took the trip to the Jayhawk State instead.

The Sea Devils were in charge all afternoon over a very undermanned College of Southern Maryland squad.
Cape Fear CC built a 45-18 halftime lead and cruised to a 68-54 victory. The Sea Devils were lead in scoring by Tavares Speaks with 25 points, Vernon Payne 12 points and freshman Jairus King with 10 points.
Speaks and Payne both returners from last seasons team will highlight this roster this season with seven sophomores.
The Wilmington native Bosier transferred back to the area from Southeastern Illinois College and Mi'Kyel Nero, a third year player, attended Georgia State University last season after playing his freshman season at conference rival Brunswick Community College.
Payne has received some early recruiting interest from Georgia State and Wichita State University according to coach Mantlo.
The Sea Devils head down to the Panhandle of Florida next month for a few games against some very solid clubs.
Region 10 looks to be wide open this season in the Carolinas.
