Seahawks are rolling

The Michigan connection is making the trip to Hutchinson, K.S. next week. Hutchinson will be the destination for one team in East Texas that will be making the trip for the first time in school history. Lamar State-Port Arthur Head Coach Matt Cross has done a great job. The Seahawks knocked off No. 1 San Jacinto last night 72-67 to advance to the NJCAA National Tourney. The Seahawks are currently 25-9 on the season and will play Monroe College in the opening round.

Point guard Vonn Jones led the way last evening for the Seahawks with 30 points by hitting on five three-pointers while Keenan Coleman added 14 points. Jones hails from Saginaw, M.I. while Coleman is from Flint.
Marsell Holden added 21 points for the Ravens of San Jacinto. Holden scored over 1,030 career points and hit over 200 three-pointers in two seasons at San Jacinto. Holden hails from Farrell, P.A.
The Ravens finished the season at 29-4 under longtime head coach Scott Gernander.
