Seminole State prospect headed south

The summer showcases are in full swing for the top junior college talent in the Class of 2008. One of those players is now off the board. Seminole State (OK) shooter J.D. Davis has committed to Texas-Arlington.
"He's an undersized guy, kind of a mid-range player. He's not really a wing, not really a post man, but the ultimate tweener type of guy," said Seminole coach Thomas Mills. "He doesn't fit into a pigeonhole, you can't put a number on what position he plays. I don't know what you'd call him, but he's a winner."

Mills said that if Davis was 6-foot-5, there would be no limit to how many schools recruited him. Last season, he shot an amazing 62% from the field for Seminole State.
"He has an ability to elevate and get his shot off. He just jumps over people," Mills said. "He just doesn't take bad shots and he's a really good shooter."
Mills said the only limitations in Davis' game could be his ball handling and his lateral quickness. The coach also said Davis is as good off the floor as he is on it.
"He is a joy to coach," Mills said. "He is a really hard worker, he's very coachable and he never complains."
