Sottos: Hawaii Visit Produces Strong Leader

Jake Sottos, a 6-3 shooting guard from Southeastern C.C. in West Burlington, Ia., took an official visit to Hawaii this week, and according to Blackhawks Head Coach Joe O'Brien, a commitment could be imminent.
JUCO Junction reached O'Brien on Thursday night, and he said that Sottos is expected to return Friday morning around 9 a.m. C.S.T.

Earlier this spring, Sottos visited Eastern Michigan. He visited Hawaii from May 6-8.
"It's a good fit from what I know about the Hawaii program," O'Brien said. "He hit 127 three pointers for us this season, and they like to shoot the ball there."
"They have a bunch of big kids returning," O'Brien continued. "They only have one two guard returning next year."
In fact, Hawaii could lose starting guard Carl English, who is testing the NBA waters this spring.
Sottos was Southeastern's leading scorer in 2002-2003, averaging 16.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. He shot 42 percent from the field and 41 percent beyond the arc.
If Sottos reaches a decision within the next 24-48 hours, we'll update the website with a story. Stay tuned.
