Southern Illinois lands juco commitment

Trinity Valley Community College head coach Pat Smith has been around coaching for along time. The Cardinals' coach has sent many kids to many conferences throughout the USA. Today one of his players decided he wanted to play in the Missouri Valley Conference next season. JucoJunction has the latest in this article.
"Ernest Watson will play at Southern Illinois University next year," said Smith.

Watson, 6-foot-7 (190) from Washington, D.C., prepped out of high school at Progressive Christian Academy in Camp Springs, MD.
"Stretch has a great motor, he's constantly on the move on both ends of the floor. He has the ability to knock down the 15-footer when given the chance," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Watson averaged 11 ppg and 8 rebounds this season for the 24-9 Cardinals. Watson received interest from Fresno State, Montana and Montana State before deciding on the Salukis.
Watson now joins fellow teammates Adrian Forbes (Auburn) and Chris Blake (Detroit Mercy) in finding Division One schools for next fall. The Cardinals play in Region 14 (East Texas) with the likes of Navarro, Paris and San Jacinto to name just a few.
