Southern Union center moving on

Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, AL is coached by legendary coach Ron Radford. Radford has guided the Bison for many years in the southern part of Alabama. The Bison had a big man this season that decided to play remain in the south for next season and continue his college career at the four-year level. Gertavian Blake, (SO) 6-foot-10 (260), has signed with Jackson State University in Jackson, MS. Blake played his freshman season at Palm Beach Community College in Lake Worth, FL back in 2006-2007 and averaged 2 ppg for the Panthers. Blake only played in 8 games for the Bison this season and averaged 3.6 ppg and 4.6 rebounds.

Ricky Davison and Montrell Thornton, teammates of Blake, have signed on with the University of Arkansas-Little Rock for next season. The Bison finished the season at 14-12 this past season.
