Southland bound

Odessa College Assistant Coach Zack Janus informed JucoJunction today that shooting guard Kevin Schaffartzik signed with Sam Houston State University for next fall. The Wranglers finished the season at 23-8

The San Diego, C.A. averaged 11.3 points per game this season while hitting 38 percent (70-186) from 3-point range. Schhaffartzik hit 154 3-pointers in two seasons for the Wranglers.
Schaffartzik scored 642 points in 61 games at Odessa College. "Kevin can really shoot the ball," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson. "You need to make sure where he's at on the floor at all times," Swanson added.
The Bearkats of Sam Houston State also added Demarcus Gatlin from Navarro College. Gatlin os an academic qualifier from Houston, T.X. He will have three years to play for the Bearkats. Gatlin averaged eight points per game this season.
