Spotlight on ASA Institute

ASA Institute of Brooklyn, NY played this past weekend at Rick Ball's JUCO Jamboree in Jersey City, NJ on the campus of St. Peter's College. JucoJunction was in attendance for this event and had a chance to see 18 teams on Saturday. JucoJunction had a chance to see Head Coach Ken Wilcox and his Avengers play and we got a update on a few players that really stood out for the Avengers in this article.
Garel Craig, (SO) 6-foot-3 (186) from Hackensack, NJ, played his freshman season at nearby Passaic Community College in New Jersey back in 2007-2008. Craig, a combo guard, prepped at Laurinburg Institute after high school.

"Garel can really go after it and create his own shot. He has good size for a guard and really a better feel for the game," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Craig enrolled at ASA back in February 2009.
Roberto Colonette, (SO) 6-foot-7 (210) from Queens, NY, is a third year player after playing his 2007-2008 campaign at Globe Tech when coach Wilcox was in charge there.
"Roberto really likes to play a few feet away from the basket and knows his role. Colonette has a nice frame and a long wingspan and can really run the floor well," said Swanson.
Keenan Ellis, (FR) 6-foot-11 (200) from Indianapolis, IN, signed with UAB out of high school at American Christian in Aston, PA. Ellis has made several stops the past few seasons and needs to settle into the Avengers frontcourt for the next few seasons.
"Keenan is a very talented big man with a long wingspan. Keenan really just needs to stay focused at all times," said Swanson.
JucoJunction will follow the Avengers in their second year as a program this season right here for your source in junior college basketball recruiting.
