Alonzo Edwards, a (SO) 6-foot-8 (245) power forward, transferred in from Nebraska.
"Alonzo is a back to the basket power forward who can step out and hit a 19-footer. Edwards has a great body and really can hit the offensive glass," said Dotson.
South Alabama and North Texas hosted Edwards on official visits already this fall according to coach Dotson. New Orleans, Georgia State, Texas Christian, Houston and recently Marquette and Florida State have made contact with the power forward. Edwards is a Houston, TX native.
Joel Gierbolini, (SO) 6-foot-7 (245), hails from Carolina, Puerto Rico.
"Joel has really worked out this summer and redefined his body," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Murray State and Mercer University (offered) have shown interest in the power forward. Joel spent the summer back home in Puerto Rico working out. Gierbolini averaged 11.1 ppg and 8.2 rebounds last season while shooting 55%(142-258) from the floor for the Bearcats.
Travis Jones, (SO) 6-foot-7 (190) from Georgetown, TX, is a left-handed small forward who likes to play on the perimeter. Texas State, Texas-Arlington, Georgia State and Wichita State have shown interest in Jones this fall according to coach Dotson. Jones averaged 12.8 ppg, 4.9 rebounds while knocking down 48% (145-300) from the floor.
JucoJunction will keep an eye on the Bearcats this season in the always rugged Region 14.
