Spotlight on Northeastern Junior College

The Plainsmen of Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO lost a good portion of the team's scoring from last season to graduation. Gone are Anthony Harris, AJ Wilson and Alex Garcia-Mendoza from last seasons squad.
JucoJunction had a chance to catch up with Plainsmen Head Coach Eddie Trenkle on some his players for this coming season to watch out for in this article.

Dre Calloway, a (SO) 6-foot-0 (178) point guard, hails from Harlem, NY. Calloway prepped at Abraham Lincoln High School and won a State Championship his senior year of hgh school. Calloway is returning to his second season at Northeastern Junior College after averaging 4.8 ppg, 3.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists last season.
"Dre has a knack to get to the glass and score the ball. He really sees the floor very well and he makes others around him better," said Trenkle.
Calloway dished out 177 assists last season for the Plainsmen.
Will Bell, (SO) 6-foot-6 (240) from Colorado Springs, CO, averaged 5.9 ppg and 4.6 rebounds last season.
"Will is a left-handed small forward who can really shoot the ball off picks or by catch and shoot," said Trenkle.
Nate Nelson, (SO) 6-foot-4 (170) from Denver, CO, is a shooting guard for the Plainsmen.
"Nelson, an academic qualifier coming of high school, has the ability to rise over you because he is a excellent athlete," according to Trenkle.
Nelson averaged 5.7 ppg and 3.6 rebounds last season.
Look for these three players to play a huge role for the Plainsmen this coming season. JucoJunction will have someone in attendance to give you some updates from the Casper Community College Jamboree in October in which the Plainsmen will be playing.
