Spotlight on Olney Central College

The Olney Central College Blue Knights only have four sophomores on the roster this season. The Blue Knights start their 2009-2010 season tonight at home versus New Creations Prep from Richmond, IN. JucoJunction had a chance to the see the Blue Knights recently and talked to Head Coach Mike Burris on his club this season in this article.
The Blue Knights were 20-11 last season and were led by five sophomores who all moved onto the four year level. The Blue Knights will look for leadership from third year player Aseante Roberts this season. Roberts, a Henderson, NC native, redshirted last season at the Olney, IL school in Region 24.

"Aseante has a great motor and frame. He looks like he's a linebacker in the SEC with his frame," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Jeffrey Dupree, Colton Booher and Peterson Bernard are the other sophomores on the roster for the Blue Knights this coming season. Dupree hails from Shreveport, LA while Booher is a local product from St. Elmo, IL. Bernard transferred in from Cabrillo College in Northern California where he averaged 13 ppg and 8 rebounds last season while shooting 69% from the floor.
The Blue Knights have a total of ten freshman on the roster and the team could be led by this cast of characters this season.
"Latroi Wright is a wiry guard who can create his own shot from midrange," said Swanson. Wright hails from Greensburg, IN. Ron "Tank" Johnson and PJ Alston bring plenty of meat to the front line for the young Blue Knights. Johnson, a Wisconsin-Green Bay commitment for 2011-2012, was placed at OCC by the Phoenix according to coach Burris. Johnson hails from Oshkosh, WI.
"PJ is a big bodied kid who must define his body for the next level but definitely has the skill level to play at this level," said Swanson.
