St. Marys Lands Florida JC Center

We had heard the rumors for several weeks, but now can confirm that St. Mary's College has landed 7-1 Daytona Beach center Reda Rhalimi.
Rhalimi, who began his junior college career by attending Foot Hill College in the San Francisco Bay Area, rejoins former JC classmate Fred Adjiwanou at St. Mary's.

JUCO Junction has confirmed this information with a source close to the St. Mary's basketball program.
Rhalimi earned his A.A. degree this summer from Daytona Beach and should have three years of eligibility at St. Mary's. His addition on the Gael front line with Adjiwanou should give St. Mary's the most formidable front line duo in the West Coast Conference.
Rhalimi suffered a major injury during the second semester at Daytona Beach. So his initial development at St. Mary's could be hampered by any nagging effects of his injury. In any case, he's a major coup for Randy Bennett and his staff at St. Mary's.
Rhalimi initially was ticketed for Georgetown. He committed but never signed a national letter of intent with the Big East school. Word surfaced earlier this spring/summer that Rhalimi had softened on his Hoya commitment, but we couldn't get a firm confirmation on that until this week.
