Statesmen making noise

Richard Bland College has only been a NJCAA member just a few seasons. This season the Statesmen are currently 22-3 on the season and ranked number 4 in the latest NJCAA D2 Poll.
The Statesmen finished last season at 27-4 before losing to Wake Tech Community College.

Tavon Mealy has been the leader for the Statesmen since he arrived on campus last season. Mealy is an undersized post player who has great hands and finishes everything around the cup.
Mealy is averaging 18.3 ppg and 8.6 rebounds this season while shooting 67% (194-290) from the floor. "Tavon has great hands and strictly plays in the paint" said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
Mealy has scored 887 career points at the current time.
Avery Ugba is a former player at Southern Tech Prep in Charlotte, NC. Ugba, a post player, played there with current New Mexico Junior College player Cullen Russo.
Ugba is a extremely active player on the floor and relentless around the ball. Ugba is averaging 12.3 ppg and 9.2 rebounds this season while shooting 57% (117-209) from the floor.
The Statesmen will play Louisburg College this coming week in a crucial game.
