Statesmen Player Decides

Darrell Blanton scored over 1,000 career points in two years of junior college basketball. JucoJunction.com found out today from Kennedy-King College Head Coach Garland Dildy that Blanton has signed on with a division one program for next fall.

"Darrell is currently in summer school at Akron University" said Dildy. Blanton averaged 18.3 ppg and 6.5 rebounds this past season for the Statesmen. The Statesmen finished the season at 14-18 in Region 4 in Northern Illinois.
"Darrell is a big guard or wing player that can attack the basket by slashing to the cup or hitting the pullup jumper from mid-range" said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson. Blanton a Cleveland,OH native started his college career at Fort Scott Community College in the Jayhawk Conference.
Blanton averaged 17.1 ppg, 6.9 rebounds and shot 55% from the floor as a freshman for the Greyhounds. He will have two years to play for the Zips in the MAC Conference.
