Lawson State Community College has made great strides the past few seasons under the coaching of Phillip Shumpert. Coach Shumpert informed JucoJunction that Arthur McMillan will play at nearby Samford University next season.

McMillan started his college career at Morehead State University in the Ohio Valley Conference as a freshman. McMillan averaged 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds this season for the Cougars.
The Cougars finished the season at 21-7. Lawson State Community College to Samford University is roughly 8 miles apart.
McMillan is ranked No. 125 in the 2012 JucoJunction Top 150.
