Dequan Hicks, a power forward from Racine, W.I., averaged 11.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season while shooting 63 percent (121-192) from the floor. "Dequan has very soft hands and has the ability to post up and faceup from 8 feet in to be effective," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
Alex Phillips returns to the T-Birds after averaging 7.1 points per game this past season. The combo guard from Smith Station, A.L. has the ability to create his own offense on the floor. Hicks and Phillips both played at the Mullen's JUCO Camp in St Charles, M.O.
Jahmad Saleem played this past month at the Peach State JUCO Jam in Aiken, S.C. The point guard from nearby Augusta, G.A. averaged 6.9 points and 2.3 assists per game this past season for T-Birds. "Jahmad is a good floor leader that is very vocal when it comes to leading his team," said Swanson.
Look for this trio to receive plenty of attention this season and foot traffic in Hobbs, N.M. on the recruiting trail for head coach Chris Tifft.
