Talented trio leads Southeastern

Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, IA plays in a league with just three other schools. The Blackhawks, currently 18-5 play Indian Hills Community College, Iowa Western Community College and Marshalltown Community College in conference play. Blackhawks Assistant Coach Lorenzo Watkins touched base with JucoJunction today on three of his sophomores that are looking for four-year schools this spring. Norvell Arnold, (SO) 6-foot-5 (180) from Harlem, NY, is currently averaging 17.8 ppg and 5 rebounds this season while shooting 53% (135-255) from the floor.

"Norvell is very athletic and can really play inside-out on the floor," said Watkins.
Coastal Carolina, Eastern Illinois University and Murray State have all shown strong interest in Arnold this season according to coach Watkins along with UW-Milwaukee and UC Riverside.
Arnold prepped at Progressive Christian Academy in Camp Springs, MD as a high school senior. Arnold has scored 904 career points at Southeastern Community College in 55 games played. Norvell recently scored 35 points versus Indian Hills Community College in a win last weekend for the Blackhawks.
Steven Baker, (SO) 6-foot-2 (190), is from St. Paul, MN.
"Baker is a wing player that can really lock you down on the defensive end," said Watkins.
Baker is currently averaging 15.4 ppg and 7.7 rebounds on the season while stroking it for 55% (142-256) from the floor. Steven has scored 747 career points in two seasons at Southeastern Community College. Eastern Illinois University, North Dakota State and South Dakota State have all shown interest in Baker this spring according to coach Watkins.
"Steven is the go to guy at time for the Blackhawks and plays very unselfish on the floor," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Jeron Lee, (SO) 6-foot-5, (170) prepped at Marshall High School in the Chicago Red West Division.
"Jeron is a slender forward that's very athletic," said Swanson.
Lee is averaging 14.3 ppg and 6.2 rebounds this year for the Blackhawks. Jeron is very wide open in the recruiting process according to coach Watkins. Lee has scored 676 career points in 56 games played at the West Burlington, IA school.
