Eagle sophomore forward Sredrick Powe signed with Birmingham Southern this spring, according to TCC Asst. Coach Tony Atkins. Powe also considered Florida International and Georgia State.
A 6-6, 220 pound power forward, Powe averaged 9.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this past season for Tallahassee. He shot 58 percent from the floor and 66 percent from the free throw line.
One of the better shooters in the J.C. ranks, former Richmond player Michael Stringer, has a number of programs looking at him this spring.
Atkins said that Butler, Southeast Louisiana, Georgia Southern, Georgia State and Mercer are courting Stringer. He visited UNC-Asheville back in the fall.
Stringer will need three courses to complete during the summer in order to graduate, which is why his recruitment isn't further along at this juncture.
Stringer averaged 14 points, two rebounds and two assists per game for the Eagles in 2002-2003. He connected on 81 of 194 three pointers for a 44 percent clip.
Dontay Rollins, a 6-2 combo guard from Tallahassee, signed with the University of Tampa, Atkins said.
Rollins averaged six points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game this past season.
Richard Thomas, a 6-7, 255 pound center from Danville, Va., has signed with Virginia Union.
Thomas averaged five points and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Eagles in 2002-2003.
