Team focus 2009: Neosho County

Neosho County Community College Head coach Jeremy Coombs just finished his first year as the boss of the Panthers. The Panthers finished the season at (14-17). The Chanute, KS school will have three solid sophomores next season that should receive some Division One looks. JucoJunction had a chance to touch base with coach Coombs recently on his players.
Delray Mills: (SO) 6-foot-6 (205) from Gary, IN. Mills is a third year player that started his career at Pratt Community College in 2006-2007 where he sat out. Mills averaged 8.9 ppg and 10.3 rebounds this past season for the Panthers.

"Delray is a great defensive rebounder and he can really play above the rim. He will best fit a system that will really get up and down the floor," said Coombs.
Mills has a 7-foot-2 wingspan according to coach Coombs.
Mark Gomilla: (SO) 6-foot-5 (200) from Atlanta, GA. Gomilla had a great freshman season for the Panthers last year by averaging 16.1 ppg and 8.3 rebounds last year while shooting 48.6% (188-387) from the floor.
"Mark is an all around player. He shoots the three ball and can pass it extremely well. Mark is an intense young man and that also prides himself on defense and rebounding," said Coombs.
St Mary's (CA), Santa Clara, Tulsa, Wichita State, UT-Chattanooga, Georgia State, Iowa State, South Alabama, Colorado State and Hawaii have already made contact on Mark this spring. Gomilla will play at Jerry Mullen's JUCO 120 Camp this July in Tulsa, OK.
Adrian Sims: (SO) 6-foot-3 (190) from Wichita, KS. Sims, a guard, averaged 11.4 ppg last season for the Panthers.
"Adrian's best attribute is that he can flat out shoot the ball. He's an extremely dedicated basketball player. Adrian is constantly in the gym," said Coombs.
Eric Avant: (FR) 6-foot-5 (195) from Olathe, KS. Avant is an academic qualifier.
"We are looking for Eric to make a big impact this year as a freshman," said Coombs.
