Team focus: Cochise College

The Apaches of Cochise College are playing up and down this season according to head coach Jerry Carrillo. The Apaches are currently (12-6) on the season. Cochise College had one player sign early in Steve White with St Francis (NY). White, (SO) 6-foot-7 from Milwaukee, WI, is currently averaging 16.9 ppg and 7.1 rebounds for the Apaches. White played his freshman campaign at Olney Central College in Illinois where he averaged 14.4 ppg and 9 rebounds last season.
Dynile Forbes: (SO) 6-foot-1 (180) from the Bahamas. Forbes, a shooting guard, is off to a great start this season. Dynile is currently averaging 20.8 ppg and is shooting 46.6% (119-255) from the floor on the season. Forbes has scored 969 career points in 49 games played at Cochise and should reach the 1,000 point plateau in the near future.

Idaho-offered, Drake-offered, Louisiana-Monroe-offered, SMU, Boise State and Long Beach State have all expressed interest in him this season.
Thomas Shumpert: (SO) 5-foot-11 (205) from Milwaukee, WI. Shumpert played high school ball with White and played at Kennedy-King College in Chicago, IL as a freshman.
"Thomas is a true point guard," said Carrillo.
Thomas is averaging 10.1 ppg and 5 assists on the season for the Apaches. He visited Division Two school Lewis University (IL) over the Christmas break.
Mike Helton: (SO) 6-foot-6 sat out last season for personal reasons. Helton is hitting the nets this season for 12 ppg The wing player is receiving interest from UT-Pan American and Long Island University this spring.
The Apaches are fighting Arizona Western and Eastern Arizona College out of the Arizona region this season.
