Team Focus: Colby CC

Colby Community College in Colby, KS has a talented group of out of state players that are contributing to his team this season. The Jayhawk Conference limits schools to just six out of staters player on the roster. Colby is located in the northwest corner of the state near the Nebraska state line. The Trojans are just currently (6-17) on the season, but head coach John Woods has a talented group of freshmen along with two sophomores on the roster that are seeing a lot of time this season.
Andrew Engel: (SO) 6-foot-2 (180) from Millersville, MD. Engel is a division one transfer from NJIT.

"Andrew plays very under control and can really run a team," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Engel is currently averaging 13.6 ppg, 4.6 assists and 5 rebounds this season. Eastern Illinois, Delaware State, Morgan State, Coppin State, Northern Colorado University and Morehead State are following Engel this spring.
"Andrew is a very coachable player and comes ready to practice or play everyday," said Woods.
Mike Boyd: (FR) 6-foot-3 (170) from Baton Rouge, LA. Boyd prepped at Compton Dominiquez in California last season.
"Mike really likes to get it going up in transition and looks to score the ball," said Swanson.
Boyd, a two guard, is currently averaging 19.1 ppg, 4 rebounds and 4 assists this season for the Trojans. Boyd is shooting 42% (141-337) from the floor.
Koance Davis: (FR) 6-foot-8 (265) from Saginaw, MI. Davis is an older kid at 25 years old according to Woods. Davis never enrolled out of high school in college and had just been working around the Saginaw area when Woods found out about him.
"Koance is a very deceptive athlete for his size. He has great hands and can really score the ball," said Swanson.
Davis, a center, recently had 28 points and 18 rebounds versus Garden City Community College. Davis for the season is averaging 17 pg and 10.4 rebounds.
"Koance is a hard match up for teams at this level. He can step out and knock down the three ball also," said Woods.
Everson Lacerda: (FR) 6-foot-11 (205) from Brazil. Everson is the most improved player on the team according to Woods. Lacerda recently had 13 points and 16 rebounds versus Hutchinson Community College. He is currently at 5.5 ppg and 5.2 rebounds on the season.
Travis Franklin: (SO) 6-foot-7 (210) from Baton Rouge, LA. Franklin transferred in from Shelton State Community College in Alabama. Franklin has yet to play at Colby Community College according to the website.
"Travis is a long and athletic four man that can finish at the rim and loves to play out in
transition," said Swanson.
