Team Focus: Cowley County

Cowley College in Arkansas City, KS had a great season this year and finished the year at (31-3). The Tigers are led by Head coach Steve Eck. Eck, a Wichita native, returned to the Jayhawk Conference this season after being at Redlands Community College in El Reno, OK the last five seasons. JucoJunction has an update on the Tigers' recruitment according to coach Eck.
Eric McKinney: (SO) 6-foot-7 (230) from Waldo, AR. McKinney played his freshman season at Redlands Community College for Eck. Eric averaged 10.5 ppg and 6.7 rebounds this year. McKinney visited North Texas -March 28-30 and now will visit Arkansas State this coming weekend.

"Eric has a great upside. Eric was an unknown player coming out of high school and signed with Jackson State before landing at Genesis One Christian School when he didn't make it academically," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Reggie Cook: (SO) 6-foot-1 (180) from Lawton, OK. Cook was a second team all league performer this season.
"Reggie was overlooked last year at Redlands when we had Al Fisher," said Eck.
Fisher this season was the MVP of the MAC Conference at Kent State. Reggie will visit UT-Pan American - April 11-13. Cook, a left-handed point guard, averaged 7.8 ppg this past season.
Preston Brown: (SO) 6-foot-6 (225) from Stringtown, OK. Brown was an academic qualifier coming out of high school. Brown also played at Redlands Community College last year. Preston, a combo forward and more of a 4/3 man, visited Evansville-March 28-30. Brown will go to Sam Houston State this coming weekend and also is
receiving looks from Missouri State and Stephen F. Austin. Brown averaged 10 ppg and 6.3 rebounds this year for the Tigers.
Montrell McDonald: (SO) 6-foot-6 (190) from Fort Worth, TX. McDonald, a small forward, has visited Oregon back in the fall and recently visited Kansas State-March 28-30. Montrell played his freshman season at George Washington University after prepping at Bridgton Academy in Maine.
"Montrell really has a great motor and a tremendous upside," said Swanson.
Texas Tech, Wichita State, Arkansas, Arkansas State and Alabama are also putting calls into coach Eck about the wing player.
