Team Focus: Eastern Arizona

The Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters recently finished in 5th place at the National Tournament in Hutchinson,KS. The Gila Monsters are led by interim head coach Tim Walsh. JucoJunction had a chance to talk to Walsh today on his players' recruitment.
Nikola Kecman: (FR) 6-foot-9 (215) from Serbia.

"Nikola can really shoot the ball well for his size. His recruitment has really gotten crazy after the National Tournament," said Walsh.
The University of Iowa has been in on Kecman for quite awhile. Fresno State, LaSalle, Nebraska, Kentucky, Kansas State and St. John's are now showing interest. Kecman is an academic qualifier with three years left to play at the four year level. Kecman averaged 13.3 ppg and 3.7 rebounds this season.
Chop Tang: (SO) 6-foot-6 (230) from Minneapolis, MN.
"Chop can really score inside-out," said Walsh.
Tang played his freshman season for Walsh at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, IA. Chop, a combo forward, will visit UW-Green Bay on April 11-13 and is also receiving strong interest from Indiana State and Wichita State. Tang averaged 15.1 ppg and 5 rebounds this past season.
Will Bynum: (SO) 6-foot-2 (165) from Alamogordo, NM.
"Will played really well at the National tourney," said Walsh.
Bynum, an off guard, averaged 13.3 ppg, 5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.9 steals this past season.
"Will shot the ball extremely well this season at 59%," said Walsh.
Montana State plans on bringing in Bynum on April 11-13. Arkansas Little Rock, Loyola-Illinois, Colorado State, Santa Barbara, Southern Illinois and Wichita State are also expressing interest in Will.
Dontae Bryant: (SO) 6-foot-2 (180) from Portland, OR.
Bryant, a combo guard, will visit Montana State on April 11-13 according to Walsh. Northern Colorado, Youngstown State and Stony Brook University (NY) have also called
in on Bryant this spring.
"Dontae really stuffed the score sheet this season. He is one of the top assist men in the country this season," said Walsh.
Bryant averaged 8.8 ppg, 5.7 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 2.7 steals for the Gila Monsters this season.
Tim Kiewel: (FR) 6-foot-10 (240) from Parma, OH.
Kiewel is an academic qualifier who can leave with three years left to play after this season. Tim was hurt for a good part of the season this year. Kiewel played at Boys to Men Academy in Chicago, IL last year for coach Loren Jackson. Southern Utah and Marist have called in on the post player.
