Team Focus: Iowa Western

Iowa Western Community College saw their season end at the hands of Indian Hills Community College in the 2 out of 3 finals played in Iowa. Indian Hills, the number two seed, swept the Reivers to advance to play on. Assistant coach James Bankhead gave JucoJunction a quick update today on the schools recruiting the Reivers sophomores.
Lloyd Phillips: (SO) 5-foot-10 (165) combo guard from Washington, D.C. Lloyd is getting strong interest from Middle Tennessee State, Illinois State, Western Kentucky, Troy, Eastern Illinois and Montana State. It looks like Illinois State could be getting a visit very soon in the future according to Bankhead. Lloyd played his freshman season at Allen County (KS) and had made a verbal to University of Montana but decided to return to junior college and found his way to Council Bluffs, IA. rebounds and 4 assists this season.
Ray Miller: (SO) 6-foot-7 (205) from Des Moines, IA. Miller is looking to line up some visits soon. Tennessee Tech, Murray State, Cal State Fullerton, Eastern Illinois and Georgia Southern are all making him a priority. Miller averaged 9.8 ppg and 6.1 rebounds this season.
DeAnthony Zanders: (SO) 6-foot-0 (180) from Des Moines, IA. Zanders, a 3.9 GPA student in the classroom and the starting point guard for the Reivers, is hearing from Northern Colorado and South Carolina-Upstate. Zanders averaged 3.5 ppg this season.
Tyler Troupe: (SO) 6-foot-7 (196) from Gallatin, TN. Troupe is hearing from Southeast Missouri State and Youngstown State. He is looking to set some visits up with both in the near future according to Bankhead. Tyler got 6.6 ppg and 6.7 rebounds a night this season.
Hugh Barnett: (SO) 6-foot-8 (240) from England. Barnett is getting interest from Montana State, Chicago State and South Carolina Upstate.
Anthony Williams: (FR) 6-foot-7 (220) from Winter Haven, FL. Williams can leave with 3 years left to play. Anthony redshirted last season at Winthrop University. Texas State and UC-Irvine are looking to bring Williams in on a official visit according to
Bankhead. Anthony averaged 5.6 ppg this season.
Jonathan Johnson: (SO) 6-foot-5 from Atlanta, GA. Johnson must go the D2/NAIA route. Jonathan played his freshman year at South Georgia Tech and then attended classes at Mount San Antonio Community College in California. Johnson has interest to return home back to the Atlanta area to play his final two seasons.
"Jonathan is a super-athletic, warrior type player. He is a 4/3 man on the floor," said Bankhead.
