Team Focus: Kilgore College

Kilgore College head coach Scott Schumacher is currently in his 13th season at the helm in Kilgore, TX. The Rangers have had a lot of close calls this season and currently are in 8th place in the Texas Eastern Conference with a (12-9) overall record for the season. The Rangers lost Marcus Thornton, a potent scoring power, to LSU after he graduated from Kilgore last season. JucoJunction had a chance to talk to Schumacher today about some of his players.
Emmanuel Bidlas A Moute: (SO) 6-foot-8 (245) from Cameroon, Africa. Emmanuel played last season at UC-Santa Barbara.

"Emmanuel has a great frame and is quite mobile," said Schumacher.
Moute is currently averaging 9.9 ppg and 7 rebounds on the season for the Rangers. Cal State Fullerton is currently recruiting him.
Brandon Roberson: (SO) 6-foot-0 (180) from Rosharon, TX. Roberson, a combo guard, transferred in from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi where he played in 20 games for the NCAA tournament bound Islanders last season.
"Brandon has a really nice frame and stroke. He is a strong kid that can create his own shot," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Roberson is hearing from Central Arkansas and Stephen F Austin this spring. Brandon is averaging 12.6 ppg while shooting 40.2% (33-82) from three point range.
Gerald Brown: (SO) 6-foot-2 (185) from Houma, LA.
"Gerald is a left-handed wing player that has a good body," said Swanson.
Brown is currently averaging 5 ppg and is wide open in the recruiting process.
Filip Perunicic: (SO) 6-foot-11 (220) from Serbia.
"Filip is really coming on strong the last 4 games for us," said Schumacher.
Filip has a great touch on the foul line and can face up some on the floor. He was
hampered earlier this season with injuries and is currently at 7.9 ppg. Texas-Pan American has shown recent interest in the power forward.
The future still looks bright for Schumacher at Kilgore College with four promising freshmen that are playing a lot of minutes this season for the Rangers.
Ridge McKeither: (FR) 6-foot-5 (237) from Danville, VA. Ridge was a first team all-stater last season in high school at George Washington High School.
"Ridge reminds me of a young Larry Johnson (UNLV)," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
McKeither is currently leading the Rangers in scoring at 15.4 ppg and 7.5 rebounds. He is shooting 63.4% (92-145) from the floor this season. Ridge is a combo forward
Omar Thomas: (FR) 6-foot-7 (215) from Detroit, MI. Thomas signed with Western Carolina out of high school and left the school back in December 2006. Omar enrolled at Kilgore last summer and he will need two years at the school to move on.
"Omar has a good understanding of the game and is a very tough kid," said Schumacher.
Thomas is getting 6.5 ppg and 4.5 rebounds a night.
LaMarshall Corbett: (FR) 6-foot-0 (180) from Reidsville, NC.
"LaMarshall is a shooter," said Swanson.
Corbett, an off guard, played at a small high school in northern North Carolina near the Virginia border. LaMarshall is getting 6.5 ppg a night for the Rangers.
James Graham: (FR) 5-foot-10 (170) from Mesquite, TX.
"James is a scoring point guard and a pesky defender on the floor," said Swanson.
Graham is getting 8.5 ppg and 3 assists an outing this season.
