Team focus: Mount San Jacinto

Mount San Jacinto Head coach Patrick Springer has his Eagles at (19-2) on the season good for #1 in southern California and #2 in the state poll. JucoJunction had a chance to touch base with Coach Springer today about some of his sophomores.
Tim Island: (SO) 6-foot-5 (200) from San Diego, CA. Island played last season at Long Beach State University where he averaged 2.6 ppg in 23 games played. The off guard is getting looks right now from Missouri, Duquesne, Utah State, UNLV, UC-Riverside, Texas A&M and Tennessee according to Springer. Island is currently averaging 16.5 ppg and 6.3 rebounds on the season for the Eagles.

Dejuan Flowers: (SO) 6-foot-7 (220) from Minneapolis, MN.
"Dejuan has come as far in two seasons as any player I have had the privilege to coach. His commitment to the weight room has allowed him to get his athleticism into the game on both ends of the floor," said Springer.
The power forward is hearing from Cal-Fullerton, Duquesne, Bethune-Cookman, North Dakota State and Utah State. Flowers is averaging 13.7 ppg and 7.2 rebounds while shooting 60.7% (108-178) from the floor.
Raymond Williams: (SO) 5-foot-7 (150) from San Diego, CA. Williams transferred in from NAIA school San Diego Christian. Raymond is averaging 8.9 ppg and 6 assists this season for the Eagles.
"Raymond has been our MVP this season to date. His ability to push the tempo has been paramount to our early success," said Springer.
Lee Stephens: (SO) 6-foot-4 (215) from Minneapolis, MN. The combo forward has a great strong body that can finish in the paint. Stephens is getting 11 ppg and 6.5 rebounds this season. Lee will have to go the D2/NAIA route according to Springer.
Justin Jack: (SO) 6-foot-4 from Maryland. Jack prepped at Maine Central Institute out of high school and had committed to Jacksonville University. Jack is the brother of NBA player Jarrett Jack (Portland Blazers).
"Justin's best basketball is still in front of him," said Springer.
Campbell University has shown interest in him this season.
