Team focus: North Idaho College

North Idaho College is off to a (14-1) season entering conference play in the always tough Scenic West Conference. The Cardinals have a talented bunch of sophomores to lead Head coach Jared Phay's team. The Cardinals only loss this season is to the Community College of Spokane (WA).
Kene Anusionwu: (SO) 6-foot-8 from London, England. Anusionwu transferred in from Panola College (TX) where he played for last season. Anusionwu prepped at Laurinburg Institute (NC) a few years back.

"Kene is still learning the game and has a big upside. He can really change the aspect of the game defensively," said Phay.
Kene is averaging 5.6 ppg and 6.6 rebounds so far this season for the Cardinals. Drake, Montana State and Southern Utah are keeping tabs on Anusionwu this spring.
David Johnson: (SO) 6-foot-6 from Chicago, IL. Johnson played his freshman campaign at Imperial Valley College in El Centro, CA. Johnson averaged 10 ppg last season at IVC.
"David is a do-everything guard. He can play all five positions on the floor and has done so for us this season. David is best suited at the small forward position," said Phay.
Johnson leads the Cardinals in scoring at 13 ppg and 6 rebounds. Utah State and SIU-Edwardsville are following Johnson this season.
Kerry Williams: (SO) 6-foot-1 from Australia.
"Kerry is a true point guard. He is our floor leader and really understands the game very well," said Phay.
Williams is getting 7.6 ppg, 3.5 rebounds and 5 assists a game for the Cardinals. Eastern
Washington, Southern Utah and Wyoming have expressed interest in the point guard.
Humberto Perez: (SO) 6-foot-2 from Yakima, WA.
"Humberto is probably as good of shooter as anyone in the junior college basketball. He is a great shooter that doesn't take bad shots," said Phay.
Portland State and Hawaii are showing interest in the two guard. Humberto is averaging 12 ppg this season.
Daniel Brady: (FR) 6-foot-8 from Lake Oswego, OR. Brady is an academic qualifier who can leave the Cardinals with three years left to play.
"Daniel is a very intelligent big man. He really understands offenses and is a skilled big-man with a strong body," said Phay. Brady visited Cornell and UM-Kansas City back in the fall. Both schools have offered him a scholarship. Daniel is averaging 5 ppg so far this season.
Look for the Cardinals to battle for a conference championship with the likes of College of Southern Idaho, Salt Lake City Community College and College of Eastern Utah.
