Team Focus: Pensacola Junior College

The Pensacola Junior College Pirates play in a very tough conference in Florida. JucoJunction had a chance to touch base today with PJC Head coach Paul Swanson on some of his players' recruitment.
Petras Balocka: (SO) 6-foot-8 (230) from Lithuania. Balocka played at East Tennessee State University last year where he saw action in 13 games. Petras prepped at Community Christian School in Atlanta, GA for coach Linzy Davis. Balocka visited Rutgers back on March 1-2 and now will journey to the University of Hawaii this coming weekend for an official visit. Petras is also receiving heavy interest from Kent State according to PJC Head coach Paul Swanson.

Balocka had a great season for the Pirates this season. The 1st team All-Panhandle Conference performer recorded 17 double-doubles this season. Petras averaged 13.6 and 11.2 rebounds this past season.
George Erkvania: (SO) 6-foot-9 from Georgia Republic. Erkvania is a third year player that transferred in from Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, IA. Erkvania played for the Blackhawks in 2005-2006 where he 2.4 ppg. George redshirted last season at SCC. George has committed to Florida Gulf Coast University for next season according to Swanson. George averaged 3.4 ppg and 3 rebounds this season.
Miles Taylor: (SO) 6-foot-3 from Pensacola, FL. The quick footed forward is hearing from Bethune-Cookman and Campbell University. Miles will be visiting Campbell University in the near future according to coach Swanson. Miles averaged 12.6 ppg and 4.5 rebounds this past season.
Lasha Parghalava: (SO) 6-foot-2 from Georgia Republic.
"Lasha has reopened his recruitment," said Swanson.
Parghalava, a one-time South Florida commitment, will journey to Hawaii this coming weekend with Balocka. Lasha averaged 11.4 ppg this season. He is an academic qualifier.
