Spartanburg Methodist College has one game left before the Pioneers break for the holiday break. The Pioneers 8-2 will play Region rival Brunswick Community College Supply, NC on Tuesday at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. JucoJunction> had a chance to touch base with Spartanburg Methodist College head coach Rob Burke on some of his sophomores recruitment.
Kendrick Robinson: (SO) 6-foot-1 (174) from Goose Creek, SC. Robinson, a point guard nicknamed "Goose," leads the Pioneers offense. Kendrick was an academic qualifier coming out of high school.
"Kendrick has been a starter since arriving on the SMC campus. He is a great leader and also a great person," said Burke.
Kendrick took an official visit earlier this season to Wofford University (offered) which is located across town in Spartanburg. Middle Tennessee State, Winston-Salem State, North Carolina A&T and Gardner-Webb have all shown interest in the point guard. Robinson is currently averaging 12 ppg and 4 rebounds for the Pioneers.
Brendon Knox: (SO) 6-foot-10 (214) from Georgetown, SC. Knox is currently averaging 13 ppg, 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots for the Pioneers.
"Knox can really change a game with his ability to alter and challenge shots on both ends of the floor," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Charleston Southern-offered, Troy, Morehead State, UNC-Wilmington, Middle Tennessee
State and Western Carolina have shown interest in the center. Knox only played the first semester for the Pioneers as a freshman.
