Team focus: West Texas College

Head coach Mark Berger is in his second season at the newly reformed Western Texas College program in Snyder, TX. The Westerners are currently 10-4 on the season heading into the Christmas break. Here is a look at some of the standouts on the roster:
Derek Williams: (SO) 6-foot-1 (170) from Queens, NY.

"Derek has played great first semester," Berger said. "He recorded a 33 point game versus Collin County and 30 points versus Weatherford College. He is shooting the three ball better and continues to dish the rock averaging close to five assists a game."
Ball State, Santa Clara and Eastern Kentucky have shown interest in Derek. Williams prepped at Genesis One in Mendenhall, MS before heading to Western Texas College.
Brawley Chisholm: (SO) 6-foot-2 (165) from Bronx, NY.
"Brawley's numbers are down this season. The combo guard has more help this season to help with other parts of his game," said Berger.
St. Francis (NY), Long Island and Texas Pan American are looking at Chisholm.
Tyler Rushing: (SO) 6-foot-4 (185) from Iowa Parks, TX. The wing player is a perfect student in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA.
"Tyler is shooting 43% from three-point range this season. He does anything you ask him to do on the floor," said Berger.
Texas Pan American, UC-Riverside and Cleveland State have expressed interest in Rushing this fall. Tyler is averaging close to 10 ppg this season.
Wayne Burton: (SO) 6-foot-8 (220) from Dallas. Burton is getting interest from Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Lipscomb and Murray State.
"Wayne continues to work at scoring on the block and he is true back to the basket player," said Berger.
Wayne is getting 13 ppg and 7 rebounds a night for the Westerners.
