Temple Commits; Iowa Western Update

Two weeks ago, it appeared as if Chris Temple would be headed for the Division II route, but the 6-7 forward from Iowa Western decided to sit next fall and try his luck at the Division I level.
IWCC Asst. Coach John Jungers informed JUCO Junction this week that Temple has committed to UM-KC. Just a few weeks ago, we had reported that Temple would visit D-II stalwart Lynn University in Florida.

"His cousin, Brandon Temple, goes there," Jungers said.
Brandon Temple played at SMS-West Plains J.C. before enrolling at UM-KC. Chris Temple began his JUCO career at West Plains in 2002-2003 before relocating to Iowa Western. He is a native of Raleigh, N.C.
As for Chris Temple, he will remain at Iowa Western this summer and take six hours, and then finish up in the fall at Penn Valley C.C. in Missouri, Jungers said.
If all goes well in the classroom, Temple will enroll at UM-KC in December.
Temple appeared in 15 games this past season for the Reivers, averaging 3.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in a reserve role. He shot 53 percent from the floor.
Back in the fall, Temple's teammate Mose Howard III committed to the Kangaroo program. Howard is a freshman qualifier who will have three-years to play at UM-KC.
In other Reiver recruiting news, 6-2 swingman Wade Dunston is currently on an official visit to Coastal Carolina.
Jungers said he expects 6-6 power forward Luther Boyd to schedule visits to both Illinois-Chicago and Wisconsin-Green Bay in the coming weeks. He visited Lamar just before the Final Four.
JUCO Junction will keep you posted on the Iowa Western sophs as the recruiting scenarios continue to unfold. Stay tuned!
