Texans off to hot start

The Texan Dome will be hosting the Texan Classic this coming weekend in Levelland, Tex. South Plains College head coach Steve Green has his squad off to a 8-0 start this season. read more about the Texans right here on your source for junior college basketball recruiting news.
The Texans had two players sign early in Greg Gainey and Stanton Kidd. The talent for the Texans doesn't stop there at all. Freshman Yanick Moreira is off to a very quick start this season averaging 13.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Moreira has recorded 25 blocks in eight games this season.

Moreira who hails from Angola, Africa, is a very highly touted prospect in the freshman class for junior college basketball. "Yanick is truly one of the best freshman I saw play so far this season, he has all the tools to be very good," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson
Small forward Malcolm Miller from Midland, Tex. is in his second season with the Texans program. "Malcolm can really stroke the ball out on the perimeter," said Swanson. Miller is currently averaging 12.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game this season.
Tymell Murphy played last season at Mohawk Valley Community College in Upstate New York. "Murphy really loves to attack the basket from all angles on the floor," said Swanson. Murphy is currently averaging 10.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this season for the undefeated Texans.
