Texas big man to the Big East

The Temple College Leopards in Temple, TX are currently 16-10 on the season under head coach Kirby Johnson. The Leopards are known for a very up-tempo style offense and are currently scoring around 100 ppg. Coach Johnson gave JucoJunction an update on where his big man will be heading next year to play in this story.
Russ Permenter, (SO) 6-foot-9 (226) from Temple, TX, will take his game to the Big East Conference next season and will play for the Providence College Friars according to coach Johnson.

"Russ took a visit this past weekend to Providence and really liked what he saw at PC," said Johnson.
Russ played his freshman season at UT-San Antonio but was hurt for the Roadrunners with a broken hand.
"Russ is very athletic for his size and can step out and stretch the defense while facing up," said Johnson.
Permenter carries a 3.75 GPA in the classroom and is currently averaging 19 ppg, 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 blocks this season for the Leopards. Russ a power forward received interest from Penn State and Pepperdine also according to coach Johnson.
