JucoJunction #7
THE WEEK IN REVIEW

After a well deserved break for all the coaches and players in Texas. Things started back, as wild as ever. Just like on the NCAA Division I level, there is a tremendous amount of parity of the juco level. The Thunderducks of Richland College proved that this week, as they knocked off the defending NJCAA Division I champion, Paris College, 83-67. Richland is a non-scholarship program, so congratulations to Coach Chuck Taylor and his squad. In an interesting tidbit, Coach Taylor was a former assistant coach at Paris for current Paris Head Coach Bill Foy. The Roadrunners of Angelina College continued their winning ways, knocking off Tyler Junior College 82-80. Angelina remains unbeaten and on top of the Texas Eastern Conference. Also, Lon Morris won a thriller on Saturday night over San Jacinto 73-71. Lon Morris, freshman guard, Bryson Graham hit lay-up with less the one second remaining to give the Bearcats a very tough road win. Graham led Lon Morris with 23 points, including 4 three pointers. South Plains College continued their excellent play. They traveled to Florida to play #6 ranked Daytona Beach. The Plainsmen defeated them 76-66. Freshman point guard helped to establish him as one of the nations top freshmen with 23 points and 4 assists. Joao Victor Ramalho, who has signed with UTEP, continued his excellent low post play, with a double double (11 & 11).
GAMES TO WATCH THIS WEEK

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
This week's honor goes to one of the top 3-point shooters in America, Bryson Graham. Graham is a 6 foot-2 200-pound guard at Lon Morris. He can play either guard spot. In addition to being a great shooter, he has a very good feel for the game. He is a good athlete, who makes good decisions with the ball. Also, he is a competitor who wants the ball in his hands at crunch time. Upper mid/mid major schools need to begin taking a look at this San Antonio, TX native.
