Texas Tech strikes juco ranks again

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are striking hard in the junior college ranks and it has really paid off for head coach Pat Knight. The Red Raiders landed their third junior college signing this fall yesterday. JucoJunction has the latest on what player will be joining the Red Raiders next season in this story.
David Tairu, (SO) 6-foot-3 (177) from Fort Washington, MD, won't have to travel to far to go to college next season. Tairu, a sharp shooting two guard, is currently at South Plains College in Leveland, TX just down the road from his future destination of Lubbock. Tairu has the Texans off to a (3-0) start this season and he is averaging 21.6 ppg on the young season. Tairu averaged 14.5 ppg and 3.7 rebounds last season for the NJCAA National Champions. Tairu joins two other teammates in signing early in Markhuri Sanders-Frison to California and Hugh Mingo to Louisiana-Monroe.
Tairu received interest this fall from Weber State, San Francisco, Wichita State and George Mason University before deciding on the Red Raiders.
