Texas Tech transfer leading Brunswick CC

Brunswick Community College is located in southeast North Carolina just south of Wilmington in the town of Bolivia, NC on Highway 17. The Dolphins have a brand new on campus facility after playing many years at local West Brunwick High School. The Dolphins finished 24-7 last season under Head Coach Walter Shaw who is entering his tenth year at the school this coming season. Shaw currently has a career record of 190-92 at the North Carolina school. JucoJunction had a chance to take a drive up the road to see the Dolphins practice yesterday.
The Dolphins had seven players move onto four year schools last season with six of them going on to Division One programs. The Dolphins will rely on Division One transfer Tyree Graham to pick up the scoring output this season. Graham, (SO) 6-foot-2 (180) from Durham, NC, started his college career at Texas Tech University last season but left the Red Raiders after the first semester. Graham transferred over to Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA where he sat out for the Bears before landing at Brunswick Community College this fall.

"I plan on visiting UAB the weekend of October 16-18," said Graham.
Graham had verballed back at Harcum College to Binghamton University but now he has reopened his recruitment.
"I am entirely open in my recruitment," said Graham.
Virginia, Wichita State, Hawaii and Georgia State University have been in contact with Graham this fall.
"Tyree has a great scorer's mentality in playing the game. I could see him scoring 40 points on a given night this season," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson
Terneil Rhodes, (SO) 6-foot-4 (190) from Petersburg, VA, is back for his second season with the Dolphins this coming season. Rhodes had signed out of high school with Norfolk State University but failed to qualify academically. Rhodes averaged 3.6 ppg last season from the wing position for the Dolphins.
"Terneil is a very athletic young man that really likes to play up-tempo," said Swanson.
Neshard Walker, (SO) 6-foot-6 (220) from Virginia Beach, VA, is currently in his fourth full-time semester. Walker started his college career at North Idaho College back in 2007-2008 and he attended Trinity Valley College in Athens, TX this past spring. Walker has yet to play a minute of college basketball.
"Neshard is a left-handed energy man on the floor who can on occasion step out and face up on the perimeter. Neshard is best suited in the paint drawing contact and playing physical," said Swanson.
Matthew Dixon, (SO) 6-foot-1 (180) from Elizabeth City, NC, will take care of the point guard position for the Dolphins. Dixon played at Enterprise-Ozark Community College in Enterprise, AL last season and prepped at Progressive Christian in Maryland prior to that.
The Dolphins have a good group of freshman. Ramel Young, Keshawn Yarbrough and Chris Smith all should see plenty of minutes on the hardwood for the Dolphins this season according to Shaw.
"I think this season's team is more athletic from top to bottom on the roster and I think we can finish better scoring the ball," said Shaw.
JucoJunction will see the Dolphins a few times this season being so close to the North Carolina school. Stay here for your complete junior college basketball recruiting news throughout the country.
