The Chase heats up for Sheridan shooter

The recruiting scene has started to heat up for Sheridan College forward Gordon Chase. For a time, it seemed the recruiting might be over.
Rumors started to circulate this week that Chase had committed to Montana State. However, JucoJunction spoke with his coach on Thursday and the coach denied those rumors.

"Gus has not committed anywhere," said Joel Davidson. "That might have been wishful thinking."
Chase, the No. 29 preseason prospect in the country according to JucoJunction, impressed with his play at the Mullens' All-Star Review in Tulsa last weekend.
"He played well," Davidson said. "People like what he does around the block. He's not going to go through anybody down there, but what separates him is he can go and get it if he misses. That's what a lot of people liked is how he can rebound offensively."
The Grizzlies are certainly one of the teams in the running for Chase's services, and they may even be the leader at this point.
"Montana has actually been on him the longest," Davidson said. "Montana, Montana State and Texas Pan-American have offered. Then Liberty offered after they saw him play in Tulsa."
While Chase has not made a commitment yet, he could very well be an early signee.
"He is at home until the 19th," Davidson reported. "He'll come back and that first weekend, we'll sit down and talk about it, decide on some visits. He'll probably take two or three official visits this fall."
When the news does break on Chase, JucoJunction will have the scoop for you.
