The latest at Western Nebraska

With Ricardo DeBem already committed to Texas Tech, Western Nebraska CC has plenty of talent to supplement an already strong inside presence. Here is a quick rundown from coach John Jungers:
Matt Akins: "Matt would be starting for a lot of teams but he comes off the bench and gives us scoring and energy."

Erik Smith: "Erik is one of the best point guards I have ever been around," Jungers commented. "He has a great understanding of the game and is ultra-competitive."
Smith is a solid floor general with a jumper. He is averaging 13 points and five assists per night. Smith is being recruited by Utah St, Weber St, Cleveland St, Murray St, Appalachian St.
Beno Jaekel: A skilled, physical big man will have three years to play.

Jaekel has heard from American University, UMass, Albany.
Carl Buck: A quick and athletic combo guard.
"Carl does all of the things a coach loves, he plays hard and spends his extra time in the gym," Jungers said.
He may have to go DII, but has heard from Eastern Illinois and Cal Santa Barbara.
Chance Wallesen: "Chance does all the little things that make a team good, he defends, rebounds, takes charges and then knocks down the three," Jungers said.
Wallesen has heard from Regis, Chadron St and Bellevue University.
