Malcolm X College is located in Chicago, IL out on the west side of town. The Hawks are currently 16-5 under Head Coach Shawn Chism.
The Hawks a NJCAA Division One program in Region 4 of Northern Illinois play in the same conference with Kennedy King, Highland Community College and Sauk Valley College to name just a few.

The Hawks this season have been led a trio of players. Will Martinez transferred into Malcolm X College after playing at Iowa Western Community College back in 2011-2012. Martinez from the Dominican Republic played high school basketball at Our Savior New American in New York.
Martinez, a point guard, is averaging 22.4 ppg and 4.2 assists this season for the Hawks.
Montrice McKnight returned from last seasons squad and played his high school basketball at Chicago Marshall High School. McKnight, a combo guard, is averaging 19.6 ppg, 4.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists this season.
McKnight has connected on 42% (47-111) from three point range and 84% (80-95) from the foul line. "Montrice really uses his body well to get off good shots and understands the game very well" said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
Jovany Austin is averaging 21 ppg and 14.3 rebounds this season. Austin, a power forward, started his college career at Tuskegee College (AL).
Austin has connected on 56% (177-316) this season. Keep a eye on the Hawks trio down the
