Three New York prospects sign

Three New York area junior college players have found homes for this fall. JucoJunction has the latest on where these players this fall in this article.
Richard Thomas, (SO) 6-foot-5 from Garden City Community College in Kansas, will take his game to North Texas University next season according to Broncbuster head coach Kris Baumann. The Broncbusters made it to the NJCAA National Tourney this past season in Hutchinson, KS and finished the year at 25-13. Thomas started his college career at Tallahassee Community College back in 2006-2007 and sat out the 2007-2008 at Garden City.

Richard visited North Texas and St. Francis (NY) this spring and received offers from both schools. Thomas averaged 13.6 ppg and 3.4 rebounds this past season and recently played in the NJCAA All Star Game in Odessa, TX and Baumann coached the team. Thomas joins teammates Thomas Manzano (Wyoming - 3 years to play) and Trevor Ottley (Middle Tennessee State) on finding schools for next fall.
Devon Baker, a (SO) 6-foot-1 (175) combo guard from Brooklyn, NY, has played the past two seasons at Howard College in Big Spring, TX. Baker prepped at Laurinburg Institute in Laurinburg, NC before landing at Howard College. Baker will take his game to Northwestern State University in Louisiana for next season in the Southland Conference according to Hawks assistant coach Darren French.
Freddy Obame, (SO) 6-foot-5 (245) from Monroe College in the Bronx, will play at University of Maryland Eastern Shore next season according to Mustangs assistant coach Brock Erickson. Obame, an undersized post player, averaged 5.9 ppg and 4.2 rebounds this past year. Freddy received interest from Longwood University in the recruiting process before deciding on UMES. Freddy joins Kyle Wright (Providence), Westley Perryman (Boise State) and Tyvon Williams (South Carolina State) as Mustang players moving onto the Division One level for next season.
