Three sign from Tyler, two remain

It was a busy day at Tyler Junior College as the first day of the spring signing period arrived. Delbert Simpson signed with Baylor and Tyrone Scott inked with Bradley. In addition, point guard Ifeanyi Koggu signed a letter of intent with Arkansas State.
"First of all, he is an unbelievably great kid," said Tyler coach Mike Marquis. "My favorite stat about him is that he had 138 assists and 39 turnovers, and that was in 30 games. That gives you an idea that he's a pass-first, unselfish basketball player. I think he's a good fit. They've got some talented kids there at Arkansas State."

The Indians fell to North Texas in the finals of the Sun Belt tournament last season.
Two more prospects will likely sign next week from Tyler, according to Marquis. Nate Garner will visit Evansville and then decide between the Purple Aces and Northwestern State. Schyler King has put a planned visit to Charlotte this weekend on hold.
