Thunderbirds making some noise

The Thunderbirds are off to a great start this season with new coach Jimmy Voight. Voight was coaching high school ball last year in Kentucky and prior to that was the Head coach at Eastern Oklahoma State College. JucoJunction.com had a chance to talk to Coach Voight about his players
Domonic Tilford: (SO) 5-foot-11 (170) from Louisville, KY. Tilford is a transfer from the University of Cincinnati. Domonic is currently leading the WJCAC conference in scoring at 20.4 points per game and adds 6.4 assists. The former Mr. Basketball in Kentucky is being recruited by Charlotte, Nebraska, Creighton, Utah, Xavier and Oregon State.

"He's an explosive offensive player that can flat out score and distribute the ball," Voight said.
Charles Prescott: (SO) 6-foot-2 (210) from Antioch, CA. Prescott is the only returning player from last year's team when he averaged 10.5 points. Charles just got
eligible at the semester.
"He is averaging 10 points per game for us and should become more involved as we enter
conference play," Voight said. "Prescott can really shoot the three ball."
Sam Walton: (SO) 6-foot-6 (245) from Jackson, MS. Walton played last season East Central CC (MS) where he averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds.
"Sam is a force inside with his bulk and strength and continues to improve as the season goes along," Voight commented.
Walton will need summer school to graduate. Sam is at 10 points and 7 rebounds this season for the T-Birds.
The T-Birds have some very promising freshman to take a look at for next year.
Rene Farias: (FR) 6-foot-3 (190) from Venezuela. The combo guard is averaging 13 points a game this season.
"Rene is equally effective at the point and the two guard spot," Voight said.
Michael Graham: (FR) 6-foot-3 (175) from Canton, MI.
"Micheal can shoot the ball from the perimeter or drive it to the basket," Voight said.
Graham is averaging 11 points per game.
Todd Jackson, 6-foot-6 , Damiano Verri, 6-foot-6, and Jesus Gonzalez, 6-foot-6, round out the freshmen at New Mexico Junior College.
